SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team found itself in a 2-0 hole early and was unable to climb out, falling 5-1 to visiting McMurry University on Tuesday evening. The 'Roos are now 3-4-1 overall, while McMurry improves to 7-1-1.

The game was scoreless until the 19th minute of action, when McMurry's McKenna Standifer finished a header from a corner kick by Haylie Blakley, and Emily Holland would tack on another goal in the 28th minute to make it a 2-0 game. That remained the score until the 44th minute, when Rebekah Gutierrez deflected a goal kick by McMurry back into the War Hawks' goal to cut it to a 2-1 game heading into halftime.

The War Hawks added a goal early in the second half, with Kaylee Worth scoring to make it 3-1 in the 48th minute, and Holland would find the back of the net again in the 72nd minute of action to make it 4-1. Holland completed her hat trick two and a half minutes later, finishing off of another corner kick from Blakley to make it 5-1 and that's how things would end. McMurry out-shot the 'Roos 36-8 in the match, with 13 shots on goal compared to three for Austin College. Kenedie Lane had eight saves for Austin College in the loss.
