SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team opened up the 2023 campaign with a scoreless draw against visiting LeTourneau University on Friday evening at the Dr. Jack Piece Memorial Soccer Complex.

LeTourneau controlled the action early, but the 'Roos started to battle back and create several scoring chances as the first half went on. The Jackets finished the opening half with a 6-5 shot advantage, and that number would grow to 18-8 in overall shots by the final horn of the second half. Kenedie Lane had a big match in goal for the 'Roos, stopping all 10 shots she faced in the match to keep Austin College even. 

Austin College had multiple strong scoring chances, with a second half attempt by Sage Newton nearly finding the net but glancing off the left post. LeTourneau appeared to get the game-winner with just over a minute and a half left to play, but the goal was waved off due to an offsides call and the two teams would ultimately finish the game at 0-0.
