Top-Ranked Trinity Too Much for 'Roo Women

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College women's soccer team fell 7-0 to No. 1-ranked Trinity University on Sunday, as the Tigers opened up a 4-0 halftime lead and held the 'Roos to two shots in the match. The 'Roos fall to 2-12-2 overall and 1-8-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Trinity struck early with a header from Ysameen Farra in the 10th minute of action, and then between the 22:08 and 32:45 marks the Tigers found the net three more times to grab a commanding halftime lead. The Tigers used an 18-2 shot advantage in the half to open up the 4-0 margin.

In the second half, Trinity used a 24-0 shot edge and talied in the 57th and 78th minutes, and then added one final goal with just 25 seconds remaining to make it a 7-0 final. Laura McGee made 13 saves for Austin College in the loss.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
