Christina Kime scored 13 points to lead three Austin College players in double figures and 13 players got into the scoring column as the 'Roo women's basketball team cruised to a 68-49 win over NYU-Polytechnic on Sunday. The 'Roos are now 1-1 this season.
The 'Roos shot nearly 50% from the field and knocked down 5-of-9 three pointers while limiting NYU-Poly to 28% shooting in the game and dominated the glass, owning a 46-24 rebounding edge. Kime hit 5-of-8 shots to get her team-high point total and Brittany Stepanski came off the bench to record a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds and Erin Riley hit 2-of-3 threes on her way to 11 points, seven boards and three assists.
Austin College, which led 30-26 at the half, pulled away in the second half thanks to a shooting percentage of 59.1% as a team.
