SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College softball team led for most of Friday's opening round SCAC Tournament game against No. 3-seed St. Thomas, but the Celts scored the final three runs of the game to hand the'Roos a 4-2 loss. Austin College will now take on Southwestern on Saturday.

Austin College got on the board in the top of the first when Elizabeth Preston came home on a throwing error to make it 1-0, and that remained the score until St. Thomas evened things up with an RBI triple from Isabelle Charles. Preston drove in a run in the top of the fifth to put Austin College back in the lead, but in the bottom half of the inning, the Celts surged ahead with a pair of runs to make it 3-2, and UST would add another run in the bottom of the sixth. The 'Roos out-hit the Celts eight to five in the game, with Preston and Alissandra Tobar each getting a pair of hits to lead the 'Roos.
