SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College softball player Alexus Johnson has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week after an outstanding performance in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series against Schreiner University, the league office has announced.

Johnson, a junior from Humble, had a nearly perfect weekend in the circle for Austin College, going 2-0 against Schreiner and giving up only one unearned run and three hits scattered across 12.0 innings of work. Johnson started the series with a complete game shutout win, striking out four batters in 5.0 innings in a run-rule-shortened game, and then took a no-hitter until the final batter of game two in a 4-1 win, giving up a single hit in another complete game victory. Those two victories took Johnson to 10 on the year, breaking the Austin College program record for wins in a season. Her efforts helped the 'Roos clinch a spot in the SCAC Tournament for the first time since 2015.
