SHERMAN, Texas - After being delayed more than two and a half hours due to stormy conditions in Sherman, the Austin College men's soccer team came out strong and never relented in a 3-0 victory over visiting Sul Ross on Thursday evening at Apple Stadium.

It only took 5:43 for Austin College to get on the board, as Pierce Wear found Louis Catchpole for a tally to make it 1-0. That combination would strike again four minutes later, with Wear once again assisting on a goal by Catchpole, who now has a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference-leading eight scores this season, to make it a 2-0 game. That's how things would stand heading into halftime, as Sul Ross managed to keep the 'Roos at bay despite a 15-2 first half shot advantage.

Austin College's dominance continued into the second half, with the 'Roos out-shooting the Lobos 16-7 to finish the game with a 31-9 edge. The 'Roos would add to their lead in the 69th minute of play, with Catchpole feeding Hector Vergara for a goal to make it 3-0. Everardo Garza and Jayson Baldwin combined for the shutout for the 'Roos, with Baldwin stopping both shots he faced in the closing minutes of the game. Jose Rangel had 10 saves for Sul Ross.
