SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College men's basketball team shot just 30.4% from the field while undefeated Trinity hit better than 50% of their shots as a team as the Tigers topped the 'Roos 89-54 on Friday evening in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference competition. The 'Roos are now 5-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Jamien June came off the bench to score a career-best 14 points to lead Austin College as the only player to reach double figures. Trinity outscored Austin College 24-12 in second chance points and dominated in the paint, scoring 52 points compared to 24 for the 'Roos and out-rebounding Austin College 54-35. The Tigers also outscored Austin College 14-5 from the free throw line.

Trinity sprinted out to a 15-2 lead in the first eight minutes of the game and never looked back. Austin College cut the margin to 16-9, but that's the last time the Trinity lead would be in single digits as a three pointer pushed it to 19-9 and the Tigers would head into halftime leading 36-21. Trinity poured in 53 second half points to put the game away after the break. June made 5-of-11 shots for Austin College, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc, and Jackson Rennie also came off the bench to hit a trio of three pointers on his way to nine points. The Tigers used a balanced attack with 13 different players scoring, paced by 13 points each from Jacob Harvey and Dean Balo.

Austin College will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Kerrville to take on Schreiner in another SCAC game.
