SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College baseball team had only five hits against Dallas Christian on Tuesday night, but the 'Roos drew 11 walks and had six hit batters on their way to a 12-5 win over the Crusaders at Baker Field. The 'Roos are now 2-1 on the year.

Dallas Christian got on the board first with a solo homer in the second, but the 'Roos answered back with an RBI sacrifice fly by Ethan Lowery in the bottom half of the inning to square things up. The Crusaders got four runs in the third to surge ahead 5-1, but the lead didn't last long as Austin College got all four runs back in the bottom of the inning, with Brandon Hill, Jake Trapani, and Christian Kyser each knocking in a run while Hill also scored on a wild pitch.

Asher Thompson scored on another wild pitch to put Austin College ahead for good in the sixth, and Trapani, Scott Hosmer, and Kyser each drove in a run in the frame to make it a 9-5 game heading into the seventh. Hill drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh to extend the margin to 10-5, and Tripp Thoms and Mason Woodhouse each brought home a run in the eighth to make it 12-5, and that's how things would end as Kurtis Gustafson pitched a scoreless ninth to finish things off.

Trystan Mallory earned the win in relief for Austin College, giving up zero runs and no hits in 3.0 innings of work with four strikeouts. Trapani finished 3-for-4 with two RBI to lead the 'Roos at the dish, while Hill drew three walks, scored three runs, and drove in two runs in the win.
