Sherman, Texas - The Centenary women's soccer team finished in a scoreless tie on Sunday afternoon versus the Austin College 'Roos in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at the Dr. Jack R. Pierce Memorial Soccer Complex.
The Ladies (1-9-3, 0-3-1 SCAC) earned their third tie of the season as they shook off a 2-0 loss on Friday night to the University of Dallas Crusaders in Irving. Austin College is now 5-5-3 and 1-1-2 SCAC.
Centenary, which traveled with just 11 players for the weekend due to injuries, battled the 'Roos and had a chance at a last-second goal but a shot from senior MF Cynthia Williams (Bossier City, La.) sailed high.
Centenary junior GK Madison Ersoff (Shreveport, La.) played all 90 minutes for the Ladies and recorded seven saves while notching her fourth shutout this season. The 'Roos played a pair of keepers as Kenedie Lanie started and went the first 55:44 and made two saves. Amanda Zyla played the final 34:16 and did not record a save.
Austin College finished with a 19-10 edge in shots and took four corner kicks to the Ladies' three. Centenary was whistled for 12 fouls and picked up two yellow cards while the 'Roos were called for three fouls and three cards.
Centenary is now 3-1-1 in its last five matches against Austin College. The Ladies are back on the road for two more road matches next weekend - their final two of the regular season. The road trip begins on Friday, Oct. 20 at Schreiner University (3 p.m.) in Kerrville, Texas and concludes on Sunday, Oct. 22 at Trinity University (Noon) in San Antonio.
