GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Volleyball collected a three-game sweep of conference opponents this weekend in Seguin, Texas on the campus of Texas Lutheran.

The Pirates won nine out of ten sets capping off the weekend with a 3-1 win over Austin College. Southwestern was led yet again on the defensive end by Geneva Nedrow, who amassed 36 digs in the win over the Kangaroos.

Southwestern tallied 49 kills in the win thanks to the attack efforts by Andie Valenzuela, and Christina Kuras who each had ten in the contest, followed by nine from Lily McWhorter

"Seeing this team jump out and compete early was important. Yet, more importantly, was seeing this team respond to a competitive Austin team and respond under pressure in set three. We had quality balance and distribution offensively. It is good to see our setters believe in their attackers in crunch time."

"Today was also impressive to see Geneva Nedrow have (36) digs against a solid attacking team. We see Geneva every day, but seeing her in match play execute at this level is elite."

"Both middle blockers continue to compete and work hard offensively and defensively. Their practice habits are continuing to show good outcomes on match day," recaps Coach Flora.

Southwestern will aim to build on their weekend when they take on Colorado College on Friday, October 13th at 1:15 PM on the campus of Trinity University.
