Catchpole Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's soccer player Louis Catchpole.

Catchpole, a junior forward originally from Kent, England, has gotten his third season in crimson and gold off to a torrid start with 10 goals scored, as he's helped the 'Roos open the year off with a 6-3 overall record. Those six wins are the most for a 'Roo soccer program in the month of September since the 2016 season, and Catchpole is the first 'Roo to reach double-digits in goals since the 2017 campaign. Even more impressively, Catchpole missed one game earlier this season, meaning he's tallied those 10 goals in just eight games played. Currently, he's second in the SCAC in goals and one of only two players with at least 10, and is also second in total points and shot attempts.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
