71 'Roos Named to Winter and Spring SCAC Academic Honor Rolls

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference has released its Winter and Spring Academic Honor Rolls, and 71 'Roos earned recognition for their outstanding achievements in the classroom.

In order to earn SCAC Academic Honor Roll accolades, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term in which they competed and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.

Among those honored for the winter sports season were seven members of the Austin College men's basketball team, including Jordan Hudgins, Joshua Joe, Jason Jones Jr., Jonathan Lawrence, Christian Luera, Jackson Rennie, and Nate Williams.

The 'Roo women's basketball team was represented on the winter honor roll with Naomi Anamekwe, Marianna Bert, Sammi Guffey, Sarah Gwin, Brooklyn Matthews, Grace Moothart, Megan O'Neil, Paulina Porter, Sarah Putnicki, and Lauren Traylor.

From the 'Roo men's swim team, Academic Honor Roll members included Cody Dean, Gabriel Fulton, Cristan Gutierrez, Alex Lai, and David Stanford, while women's swimmers Jordan Armstrong, Lola Barcus-Schafer, Lee Campbell, Lberty Chanin, Cassiddee Levine, Lauren Olivier, Sammi Thiele, and Becca Tobias.

From the spring, the 'Roos were represented on the SCAC Academic Honor Roll by baseball players Beau Beshires, Gavin Brady, Ashton Cason, Zack Czarnecky, Max Danielsen, Garrett Gray, Kurtis Gustafson, Keaton High, Brandon Hill, Scott Hosmer, Michael Hull, Christian Kyser, Justin Lambright, Brayden Marshall, Ben Meraz, Ethan Nixon, Josef Potter, Blake Skipworth, Greg Smith, Asher Thompson, Jake Trapani, Branson Vrazel, Tyler Ward, Sam Wilson, and Mason Woodhouse.

Also earning spring recognition were softball players Avery Atencio, Lyndsey Busch, Tessa Contreras, Carrie Johnson, Calleigh King, Joli Kirkpatrick, Elizabeth Preston, and Hailie Swiatkowski.

Rounding out the 'Roos on the spring honor roll were men's tennis players Yudai Abe, Neel Gautam, Luke Henley, Tate Nelson, Trey Salyer, and AJ Wueste, along with women's tennis players Sierra Thomas and Cynthia Zapata.
