Hudgins Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Jordan Hudgins.

Hudgins, a freshman forward from Wylie, has had a big impact for the 'Roos in his first season at Austin College. He's reached double digits in scoring four times in eight games in which he's appeared this season, including a team-best 14 points in last weekend's road game at Colorado College. Currently, he ranks fifth in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in field goal percentage, hitting 58.7% of his attempts from the field this season. He's also 11th in rebounding, pulling down 5.8 per-game, and is also averaging 9.0 points, 2.6 assists, and is sixth in the SCAC in free throw shooting, hitting 81% of his attempts.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
