SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Ryan Culp.

Culp, a senior from Midland, had a stellar performance on the mound as the 'Roos defeated Southwestern 7-1 last week in the right-handed pitcher's only appearance last week. Culp tossed 8.0 strong innings, allowing one run on just three hits while striking out nine batters to help the 'Roos defeat the Pirates for the first time since 2018. Culp gave up his lone run and two of his hits in the top of the first, and then did not allow another base hit until the eighth inning of the victory.
