Harris Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's soccer player Meredith Harris.

Towler, a senior from Mansfield, finished out her final collegiate season strong, playing all 110 minutes of a scoreless double overtime draw against the University of St. Thomas on Senior Day. Harris earned the clean sheet in goal for the 'Roos, making nine saves, and earlier in the weekend she made 10 saves in an overtime loss against Centenary. Harris finished the season far and away the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference leader in saves, making 96 stops despite splitting time in goal for much of the season. She was also fourth in the SCAC in save percentage, and finished her career with 250 saves for Austin College.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
