Women's Cross Country Takes Fifth, Men Place 10th at UT-Tyler

The Austin College men's and women's cross country teams kicked off the 2014 campaign at the University of Texas-Tyler Invitational, with the women taking fifth and the men finishing 10th. This was the first race for the men's cross country program since being revived as a varsity program.

The women placed fifth out of 11 teams, with Alex Quinn finishing as the team's top finisher in 25th place with a time of 22:47.98, and Amanda Goodson took 28th place with a time of 23:17.75. Eden Llamas rossed the finish line in 30th place, Sally Kate Humphries took 31st, and Hailee Meiners finished 33rd to round out the team's top five finishers.

On the men's side, the 'Roos finished 10th out of the 10 teams, though with only four runners finishing Austin College did not qualify for an official finishing score. Chris Burke had the top time for the 'Roos, finishing in 17:36.66, good for the 22nd best time of the day on the men's side. Octavio Zarraga had the next best finish for the men, coming in with a time of 19:14.29.
