Women's Water Polo Ranked No. 10 in Preseason Poll

SHERMAN, Texas - After an outstanding inaugural year for the Austin College women's water polo team in 2019, the 'Roos enter the 2020 campaign as the No. 10-ranked team in the Division III national poll. The 'Roos have also been picked second in the CWPA preseason poll after finishing as the conference's runner-up last year.

Last season the 'Roos went 8-9 overall, including a 5-3 mark in CWPA play in the program's first season on the varsity level. Head coach Mark Lawrence's team reached the CWPA title game after defeating Penn State-Behrend and Carthage in the conference tournament before falling to Macalester 8-5. Austin College will be led by sophomores Lexi Wong and Brooke Le, who each garnered All-America honors in their debut seasons. Wong was also named the CWPA Rookie of the Year after scoring 42 goals in 17 games.

The 'Roos open the season in Providence, Rhode Island, taking on NCAA Division I opponent Brown University and Division III opponent Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on January 31. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps opens the year ranked No. 4 in the Division III national poll.
