Folse, Tseng Earn CSC Academic All-District Volleyball Recognition

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College volleyball players TJ Folse and Brianne Tseng have been selected as Academic All-District picks for their outstanding performances both athletically and academically.

The 2022 Academic All-District Volleyball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

Folse, a sophomore right side from Deport, earned her Academic All-District recognition thanks to a 3.96 grade-point-average with a major in Computer Science, as well as her ouststanding contributions on the volleyball court this season. Folse averaged 1.88 kills-per-set, tied for third on the team, and led all primary attackers for the 'Roos with a .214 attacking percentage. She also had 25 total blocks on the year.

Tseng, a sophomore setter from Plano, was named Academic All-District with a 3.69 grade-point-average in her Kinesiology major, while also proving to be one of the top players at her position in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Tseng averaged a team-high 4.66 assists-per-set and added 20 service aces, along with 1.82 digs-per-set on the year. Tseng started all 33 matches this season for Austin College.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
