SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team is headed to Colorado Springs this weekend for the 2022 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, with the 'Roos entering as the No. 5 seed after finishing the regular season with a 16-16 overall record and a conference mark of 8-8.

Austin College squares off against No. 4 seed Texas Lutheran in the opening round of the six-team tournament, with match time set for 10:30 a.m. (MDT) on Friday morning. This season the 'Roos and Bulldogs faced off twice, with TLU winning both meetings. In the first match between the two squads, Texas Lutheran won 3-0 in Georgetown on October 1, and then two weeks later in Sherman the Bulldogs handed Austin College a 3-1 defeat.

The 'Roos enter the tournament on a four-match winning streak, having defeated Schreiner, Centenary, and Dallas in their final three SCAC matches of the season, with the fourth victory coming against non-conference foe Texas A&M Texarkana. Texas Lutheran, meanwhile, heads into the postseason with a record of 24-9 overall and 11-5 in conference play. The Bulldogs closed out the regular season with a pair of losses against Colorado College, which is the No. 3 seed, and top-seeded Trinity.
