6 Kangaroos Named To SCAC Tennis All-Tournament Team

SHERMAN, Tex. - Following a 13-8 (3-2 SCAC) season this year, the Austin College Women's Tennis Team placed 6 out of 8 members on the SCAC All-Tournament Team for 2018; the most nominations in program history.

Melody Duong, a first-year from League City, Texas, won her only singles match of the weekend at Line 1 singles over Colorado College 7-5, 6-2 in her All-Tournament campaign.

Diana Carvajalino, a sophomore from Hurst, Texas received All-Tournament Team honors for remaining undefeated at Line 1 singles in Duong's absence against Schreiner University in Round 1, and winning the clinching singles point over Colorado College at Line 2.

Anna Sergiovanni followed suit with her doubles partner Carvajalino by winning Line 2 singles over Schreiner and claiming a victory at Line 3 singles over Colorado College in the third place match.

Chandler Morris was able to log her lone result for a victory at Line 6 singles against Colorado College, and earned All-Tournament Team honors for that performance as well.

The final selection was bestowed upon the doubles team of Katie Seibert and Georgia Moore for their pivotal victory at Line 3 doubles over Colorado College.  From a momentum perspective, there was no bigger victory on the weekend than theirs in doubles competition to prevent a sweep against the Tigers.

Six Women's student-athletes on the All-Tournament Team is the most selections in program history, and two singles players posting undefeated records at two different lines (Carvajalino, Sergiovanni) is the first time that feat has been accomplished by Austin College Tennis Players.
