'Roo Women Move Into 6th After Day Two at SCAC Championship

THE COLONY, Texas - The Austin College women's swimming and diving team had a solid second day at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Meet on Thursday, moving from seventh to sixth place heading into Friday's third day of competition.

The 'Roos opened up the day with a sixth place finish in the 200 free relay, with the team of Sophie Garriga, Katie Voelkel, Matea Stanisic, and Jennifer Liang coming in with a time of 1:47.52. Austin College also got points from Sarah Edzards in the 500 freestyle, coming in 13th with a personal best time of 5:47.81, and Brittany Maynard was 15th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.16.

Austin College will be back in the pool tomorrow at the Lewisville Eastside Aquatic Center, with prelims at 10:30 a.m. and finals starting at 6:00 p.m.
