Richards Breaks Another Record at UTA Invitational; 'Roos Perform Well at McMurry

The Austin College distance track team turned in some strong times at the War Hawks Classic hosted by McMurry University on Friday, and Hannah Richards competed at the Bobby Lane Invitational hosted by the University of Texas-Arlington on Saturday, breaking her own program record in the 1500-meter event.

At the War Hawks Classic, the 'Roos got a strong performance from Eden Llamas in the 5000-meter run. Llamas placed sixth in the event, coming in with a time of 21:09.28. Chris Biffar placed fifth in the men's 5000-meter, finishing with a time of 17:31.41 in the event. Alex Quinn won the 10000-meter race, finishing with a time of 43:25.76, and Biffar added another fifth place finish, this time in the 1500-meter with a time of 4:25.35.

On Saturday, Richards competed at the Bobby Lane Invitational, competing against primarily NCAA Division I opponents in the 1500-meter event. Richards finished in 14th place, and became the first 'Roo women's runner to finish with a sub-5:00 time in the event in program history. Richards came in with a time of 4:58.70, breaking her own record in the process.
