Cross Country Runs Well in Season-Opening Meet

DALLAS, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's cross country teams performed well in their season-opening meets hosted by Dallas Baptist, with each team placing finishers in the top 30 overall runners.

On the men's side, the 'Roos finished sixth out of nine teams, led by a 20th place finish from Raymond Navarro. Navarro came in with a time of 28:07.6, while Charles McIntyre finished with a time of 27:56.8, which was good for 28th place overall. Andrew Thomas crossed the finish line in 38th place, while Chris and Johnny Biffar were 44th and 46th place overall. As a team, the 'Roos placed just ahead of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference rival University of Dallas.

The women's team did not place after having only four runners complete the event, but the 'Roos had strong performances from those four runners with Hannah Fraga placing 30th with a time of 23:24, while Abigail Morgan came in with a time of 26:17.2, good for 44th place overall. Jessica Hoffman was right behind her in 45th place overall with a time of 26:22.5, and Cayla Rodriguez rounded out the four finishers with a 47th place finish overall.
