Burke Earns All-SCAC to Help Men's Cross Country Place 5th

Chris Burke finished ninth overall to lead the Austin College men's cross country team to a 5th place finish at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship in Boerne, capping off a strong season for the first year program. Burke's time of 28:23 also qualifies him for the NCAA Regional Championships.

Alex Berghorn also turned in a strong performance, placing 30th with a time of 31:28, and Julio Torres placed 35th with a time of 33:30. Tristan Ortiz came in 38th, finishing with a time of 33:48, and Eric Garza placed 43rd with a time of 37:03. Diego Robledo rounded out the Austin College finishers with a time of 39:48, good for 47th overall.

Austin College finished ahead of Southwestern, Schreiner, and Centenary to take 5th, and Burke becomes the first male or female cross country runner to earn All-SCAC and qualify for the NCAA Regionals with his outstanding performance.
