Men's Water Polo Caps Season with Win

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Austin College men's water polo team wrapped up its shortened season on a high note, topping Penn State Behrend 17-11 in the 5th place game at the MPSF Tournament on Sunday morning. The 'Roos finish the year with a record of 2-3 overall.

The 'Roos scored the first two goals of the game, and after Behrend evened things up, Max Wade found the net to make it a 3-2 game. Penn State Behrend answered once more, but the 'Roos scored the last two goals of the opening quarter to make it 5-3 and never relinquished the lead the rest of the way. Austin College would go on top 8-5 at halftime, and extended the margin to 12-7 heading into the final frame. After Behrend scored to open up the fourth to trim it to a four goal game, Brett Skinner put one past the goalie to make it 13-8, and after another goal for the Lions, Wade and Cade Griffith each scored to push it to a 15-9 game and the 'Roos would maintain that six-goal margin as time expired.

Wade tallied four goals to lead Austin College and Andrew Pope and Griffith each scored three times, while Robert Griffin and Dylan McArthur scored twice each and Skinner, Brady Andrews, and Alex Rodriguez each found the back of the cage once.
