SHERMAN, Texas –In his first week of collegiate water polo action, Austin College's Andrew Pope has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Newcomer of the Week, the league office has announced. 

Pope, a freshman from Flower Mound, had a strong weekend in four games on the campuses of Brown and Harvard. Playing against Brown, Bucknell, Harvard, and MIT, Pope finished the weekend with nine goals on 13 shots for a .692 percentage. He scored at least two goals in each contest, and also earned three exclusions in 15 quarters of action. 

This is the first-ever MPSF honor for Austin College.
