ABILENE, Tex. - The Austin College Men's Tennis Team achieved their first win of the year, 9-0 against the Howard Payne Yellowjackets in Abilene.
Erik Meendsen & Preston Glasscock as well as Jeff Kubena & William Crouch rolled to 8-0 victories by playing aggressive, vertical tennis, while Cedric Ambulo & Josh Granberry got their first dual match victory as a doubles team, taking Line 1 Doubles 8-5 over Torres/Lambert.
Singles would go the same way for the Kangaroos as the six members of the team would drop a total of 7 games. Ambulo would struggle to find his rhythm in the first set against Torres of HPU, but would blank the Yellowjackets Line 1 Singles player 6-0 in the second set.
The Austin College Men's Tennis Team is back in action tomorrow, February 7th at 10:00 AM against the McMurry University Warhawks in Abilene, TX.
