SHERMAN, Texas –Austin College men's basketball player Justice Mercadel has been named to the D3Hoops.com National Team of the Week after a pair of outstanding performances last week.

Mercadel, a sophomore guard from Little Elm, was also named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week after averaging 24.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.5 steals-per-game in a pair of wins for the 'Roos. He also shot 65% from the field and 88% from the free throw line. 

Mercadel scored 26 points and added nine rebounds and seven assists in a victory over Paul Quinn, and followed that up with 23 points in a comeback win over Hendrix on Saturday. Mercadel currently leads the 'Roos and is among the SCAC leaders with 16.8 points-per-game.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
