SHERMAN, Texas - After being named the Southern Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week, Austin College football player Keegan Nichols has been named to the D3Football.com National Team of the Week.

Nichols, a sophomore linebacker from Cedar Park, made 13 tackles in Austin College's come-from-behind 27-26 win on the road against Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Nichols made six solo stops, and had 3.5 tackles-for-loss and a sack for a loss of seven yards in the victory. Through the first two weeks of the season, he's second in the SAA with 24 tackles and leads the conference with 6.5 tackles-for-loss.
