Box Score 2 REDLANDS, Calif. – The Concordia University, Irvine men's water polo team had a strong finish at the Redlands tournament as 14 different players reached the back of the net at least once for CUI on Sunday with two victories.
CUI 17, AUSTIN COLLEGE 5
The Golden Eagles jumped out with a dominating first half outscoring the Roos 9-2 and finished with a 17-5 win.
Sophomore
Leo Erickson led CUI with four goals with
Jacob Stuart contributing three and two steals. The goals were spread throughout the Green and Gold as there were three players with two goals and four with one goal.
All three goalies played a role in the win as seniors
Hunter Osgood and
Tanner Powell only allowed a combined two goals and 11 saves. Junior
Griffin Beth came up with three saves and two steals.
CUI 25, WHITTIER COLLEGE 6
Concordia had another outstanding performance against No. 10 Whittier College as they distributed goals among most players that came into the game.
Oscar Garcia Blomback finished with a career-high of four goals. Freshman
Kaliq Khan had three steals to go along with a goal and two assists.
The three goalies played a pivotal role only allowing six goals and had four saves out of the 18 shots.
The Golden Eagles will be on the road against California Baptist Thursday Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. before playing in the ULV Mini Tournament hosted by La Verne.
