SHERMAN, Texas. - The Crusaders took the pitch against Austin College looking to win two games in a row for the first time this season, coming off an excellent performance in their 1-0 win over University of the Ozarks. The Crusaders were dominant on the road, once again, en route to a comfortable 2-0 win over the Roos.
It nearly looked as though they would have to wait until the second half to open the scoring again, but Avery Seaman scored the opener at the stroke of halftime with a brilliant effort from outside the box that curled just under the crossbar. The Crusaders were in complete control of the game to that point, and maintained that control through to the final whistle.
UD doubled their lead in the final 10 minutes with another superb strike, this one by Claire Reed, also from outside the box that curled beautifully into the top right corner for the Crusaders second goal and her second goal of the season.
The Crusaders were simply unstoppable, outshooting the Roos 26-9. Only two of those nine shots were on target , leaving Kaitlyn Vess largely untroubled between the sticks for her fourth clean sheet of the season.
