Late Goal Takes Down Crusaders

SHERMAN, Texas - The University of Dallas men's soccer team lost their conference opener with Austin College 1-0 on Saturday.  They fall to 2-5-2 on the year and start conference play 0-1.

The Roos had the slight edge for much of the game, but the Dallas back line and Anthony Gonzalez had done well to keep the game scoreless.  The Crusaders had their fair share of chances to find the back of the net, but wouldn't get the reward for their efforts.  Victor Dalvo tested the keeper in the 35th minute and Ben Utz in the 54th, but the rest of their chances would fail to hit the mark.

After putting in a defensive performance that at the very least warranted a draw, the Roos scored the dagger with less than five minutes on the clock.  Though Dallas had been on the front foot for much of the last 10 minutes, they were unable to equalize as Austin snatched the win.
