SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's water polo team collected national academic honors this week, as 16 'Roos were named All-Academic by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches.
The ACWPC has three tiers of recognition for its student-athletes, with those earning Outstanding honors achieving a grade-point-average between 3.71 and 4.0, those earning Superior recognition boasting a GPA between 3.41 and 3.7, and student-athletes with a GPA between 3.2 and 3.4 being named to the Excellent tier.
Among the 'Roos who earned Outstanding honors were Kate Askew, Shannon Berry, Katherine Cox, Kendall Katusak, Abby McCants, Sophie Oliver, Valery Piachonkina, and Sammi Thiele. Earning Superior recognition were Brooke Le, Kalissa Niles, Madison Taylor, and Lexi Wong. The 'Roos who were honored in the Excellent tier were Ally DeRado, Kylee Noble, Lauren Olivier, and Alyssa Ross.
