Volleyball Falls Twice in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team dropped both of its matches on Saturday, first falling 3-2 at Hardin-Simmons before heading to McMurry, where the 'Roos dropped a 3-0 decision. The 'Roos are now 10-9 overall this season.

The 'Roos fell in each of their first two games at Hardin-Simmons by scores of 25-16, before fighting back with wins of 25-21 and 25-20 in sets three and four. In the fifth set, however, HSU regained momentum and handed the 'Roos a 15-10 loss to clinch the match. Christine Royalty had 16 kills with a .346 hitting percentage to lead the 'Roos, and Aelyn Rodriguez added 10 kills. Brooklyn Talley had 20 assists and Mari Prazak paced the 'Roos with 18 digs.

McMurry topped the 'Roos in three sets in the team's second match of the day, winning 25-19, 25-15, 27-25. The 'Roos were limited to just a .040 hitting percentage in the match, while McMurry hit .222 as a team. Mayson Kennon's 10 kills led Austin College, Rodriguez added nine. Talley again led Austin College with 17 assists, adding seven digs, and Prazak had a team-best 14 digs in the loss.
