The Austin College volleyball program has seen tremendous team and individual achievements in more than two decades under head coach Ed Garza, but no one player had a more accomplished single season than Kaitlin Listol in 2007. That year, Listol became the first player in Austin College history to be named First Team All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, in addition to earning Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors.

That season, Listol, a native of Richardson, set the SCAC single season record with 709 kills, a mark she still holds. Her average of 4.92 kills-per-set rank second all-time for a single season in conference history, as well. That average was good for 12th in the nation that season, while she also finished the year ranked eighth in the nation with a .397 hitting percentage. With Listol leading the way, Austin College won a program record 38 matches that season and hosted the NCAA Division III regionals in Hughey Gym. The team would finish the year with a record of 38-6.

Listol was also a First Team All-Region selection, a two-time SCAC Player of the Week, and was named to the SCAC All-Tournament Team. She was also named Second Team Academic All-District by ESPN the Magazine. Listol finished her career with 1,921 kills, the second highest career number in Austin College history behind only Shelby Eaves.
