'Roos Sweep Jarvis Christian and Arlington Baptist

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College volleyball team gave its six seniors a memorable Senior Night, sweeping both Jarvis Christian College and Arlington Baptist College by scores of 3-0. Senior Katie Ingle surpassed both 3,000 career assists and 1,000 career digs, and fellow senior Rebekah Bowden topped 500 career blocks to help the 'Roos get to 22-11 overall.

The 'Roos cruised to a 25-8, 25-13, 25-17 victory over Jarvis Christian (4-28) in the first match of the evening, hitting .583 as a team in the first set to establish the tone and finishing with a .348 hitting percentage overall. Kristen Massey led a balanced attack by the 'Roos with eight kills, adding three total blocks, and Ingle recorded six kills, 16 assists, and three digs. The 'Roos had 11 different players notch at least one kill, and Tatiana Ferrari led the 'Roos with 13 digs.

In the second match of the night, Austin College took a 25-13 first set victory against Arlington Baptist (17-13) and never looked back, winning sets two and three by scores of 25-16 and 25-18, respectively. Massey had eight kills with a .800 hitting percentage in the match, and Dani DeWitt added eight kills of her own. Bowden had six kills and seven total blocks, and Ingle had 22 assists and eight digs in the victory. Once again, the 'Roos had a balanced attack with 12 different players recording at least one kill.
