'Roo Volleyball Drops Pair to Trinity and Southwestern

SHREVEPORT, La. - The Austin College volleyball team wrapped up the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season with a pair of losses to No. 5-ranked Trinity and No. 3-ranked Southwestern, bringing the team's record to 20-11 overall and 6-8 in conference play.

Against Trinity, the Tigers took the match in three sets with scores of 25-20, 27-25, 25-15. Austin College got a team-best eight kills from Mayson Kennon in the loss, while Dani DeWitt added seven kills. Katie Ingle had 20 assists, three service aces, and eight digs, and Tatiana Ferrari had a team-best 18 digs in the match. As a team, the 'Roos hit just .102 while the Tigers had a .310 team hitting percentage.

The 'Roos closed out the weekend with a four set loss to the Pirates, falling 25-18, 25-16 in the first two sets before forcing a fourth with a 29-27 third set win. However, Southwestern took the fourth set 25-14 to end the match. Hannah Arbaugh paced the 'Roos with 10 kills and Brooke Harris added nine, while Ingle had 22 assists, 13 digs, and six kills. Madi McVay led the 'Roos with 15 digs in the loss.
