Volleyball Notches 20th Win for 20th Straight Season

SHREVEPORT, La. - With a 3-1 win over Schreiner in their first match of the day on Saturday, the Austin College volleyball team reached the 20-win mark for the 20th straight season. The 'Roos later fell to TLU, bringing their record to 20-9 overall.

Austin College got off to a strong start against Schreiner, winning 25-22 and 25-12 in the first two sets before falling 25-18 as the Mountaineers forced a fourth set. However, the 'Roos pulled out the 25-22 fourth set victory to notch their 20th victory of the year. Kristen Massey had a career-best 18 kills in the victory, boasting a .469 hitting percentage in the match. Mayson Kennon had nine kills, and Katie Ingle had 43 assists and 10 digs, along with six kills of her own. Tatiana Ferrari paced the 'Roos defensively with 32 digs.

The 'Roos would later fall to Texas Lutheran in four sets, taking the first set 25-19 but dropping the next three by scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-21. Kennon had 14 kills and Rebekah Bowden and Dani DeWitt each added 10, but the 'Roos hit just .123 as a team with 24 attacking errors in the loss. Ingle again led the 'Roos with 38 assists and added 10 digs, and Ferrari had a team-best 24 digs.
