Volleyball Cruises Past Johnson & Wales

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College volleyball team used a .306 team hitting percentage and 10 service aces to cruise to a three set victory over visiting Johnson & Wales University on Thursday night. The 3-0 victory brings the team's record to 8-1 overall this season.

Austin College took the match by scores of 25-12, 25-14, 25-17 using a balanced attack, with 10 different players each recording at least one kill. Rebekah Bowden was one of three players for the 'Roos with five kills to lead the way, also boasting a .571 hitting percentage in the match. Bowden also had four total blocks, while Brooke Harris and Mayson Kennon each added five kills.

Katie Ingle had a strong all-around match, recording three kills with a .500 hitting percentage in addition to leading the 'Roos with 21 assists and adding eight digs. Tatiana Ferrari had a team-best 15 digs and added three aces. Madi McVay also finished with three aces in the match.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
