'Roos Complete Weekend Sweep at AC Invitational

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College volleyball team completed its weekend sweep at the Austin College Invitational, topping LeTourneau and Louisiana College both by scores of 3-0 on Saturday. The 'Roos are now 7-1 overall on the season with the wins.

Austin College opened up the day with a 25-19, 25-23, 25-16 victory over LeTourneau, getting eight kills and five digs from Mayson Kennon and nine total blocks and five kills from Rebekah Bowden to lead the way in a balanced effort. Brooke Harris had seven kills, while Katie Ingle had 19 assists and 13 digs to lead the 'Roos in both categories.

In the final match of the weekend, the 'Roos used a .222 team hitting percentage to sweep Louisiana College 25-11, 25-19, 25-13. It was another balanced attack for Austin College, with Dakota Jeffcoat, Kristen Massey, and Kennedy Keuper each notching six kills to pace the 'Roos. Aelyn Rodriguez added five kills, while Sam Fawcett had 26 assists and 12 digs. Tatiana Ferrari added a team-best 14 digs, while Bowden had five more total blocks. 

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
