'Roo Sweep Day Two of Austin College Classic

SHERMAN, Texas – The Austin College volleyball team topped both Sul Ross and Howard Payne by scores of 3-0, and head coach Ed Garza earned his 600th career coaching victory as the 'Roos improved to 3-1 to open the season.

The 'Roos cruised to a 25-11, 25-18, 25-17 over Sul Ross to get Garza's milestone victory in the first match of the day. Austin College used a .267 team hitting percentage in the win, with Kristen Massey recording six kills to lead the team. Katie Ingle, Dani DeWitt, and Kennedy Keuper each had five kills, and Ingle added 19 assists and six digs. Tatiana Ferrari had a team-best nine digs in the victory.

Austin College wrapped up the weekend with a 25-22, 25-14, 25-18 win over Howard Payne as Rebekah Bowden registered seven kills with a .500 hitting percentage and Massey added six kills and three total blocks. Ingle had 17 assists and 16 digs in the match, and Madi McVay recorded a team-high 17 digs in the win. Brooke Harris and Mayson Kennon each had six kills for the 'Roos.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
