'Roo Volleyball Finishes Fourth at SCAC Championship

The Austin College volleyball team topped the University of Dallas before falling to Trinity and Colorado College en route to finishing fourth at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament this weekend. The 'Roos end the year with a record of 24-15.

The 'Roos started the weekend strong with a 3-0 sweep of Dallas, winning by scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-20 behind 12 kills from Madison Lee. Lee added five block assists and five digs in the victory. Presleigh Watson had 10 kills and four block assists, and Rebekah Bowden had eight total blocks to go along with six kills. Katie Ingle led the 'Roos with 32 assists and Madi McVay had 14 digs.

In the team's second round matchup against No. 16-ranked Trinity, the Tigers topped the 'Roos 25-20, 25-19, 25-17 to send Austin College to the third and fourth place match. Dani DeWitt had seven kills, and Watson added seven kills and three block assists. Ingle posted a double-double with 20 assists and 14 digs, and McVay finished with 20 digs for the 'Roos. 

Austin College wrapped up the tournament on Saturday against No. 6-ranked Colorado College, falling to the Tigers 25-19, 25-13, 25-19. Watson had eight kills and four total blocks to pace Austin College, and DeWitt had seven kills in defeat. Ingle again led the way with 22 assists, and Tatiana Ferrari had a team-best eight digs in the match.
