'Roo Volleyball Sweeps TLU and Schreiner

The Austin College volleyball team picked up a pair of 3-0 victories over Texas Lutheran and Schreiner on Saturday on day one of the final SCAC cross-divisional of the season in Kerrville. The 'Roos are now 19-11 overall and 7-5 in conference play.

Against TLU, the 'Roos used a .289 team hitting percentage to earn a 25-18, 25-23, 25-13 victory over the Bulldogs. Dani DeWitt had 12 kills to pace Austin College, with Rebekah Bowden adding 11 and four block assists. Bowden also boasted a .611 hitting percentage, with zero attack errors in the match. Madison Lee added nine kills, and Katie Ingle had 36 assists and 12 digs and passed the 1,000 assist mark for the season. Madi McVay paced the 'Roos with 14 digs.

In the second match of the day, the 'Roos topped the host team, Schreiner, 25-13, 25-22, 25-18 to lock up one of the top four seeds in the SCAC tournament. Austin College once again sported an outstanding team hitting percentage of .309 in the victory. Presleigh Watson had 12 kills and seven total blocks, and DeWitt added nine kills in the win. Ingle led the 'Roos with 37 assists and added 12 digs for her second double-double of the day. 

Austin College wraps up the weekend on Sunday against No. 4-ranked Southwestern and No. 18-ranked Trinity.
