Austin College Takes Two of Three on Weekend Road Trip

The Austin College volleyball team won two of its three matches over the weekend, topping Millsaps and Sewanee while falling to Centre College. The 'Roos are now 16-11 overall this season.

The 'Roos fell 3-1 against Centre to open the weekend, winning 26-24 in the first set before falling 18-25, 23-25, 25-27 in the next three. Presleigh Watson had 12 kills while Madison Lee and Aelyn Rodriguez each had 11 in the loss, and Katie Ingle had a big all-around match with 40 assists and a team-best 21 digs. Tatiana Ferrari added 18 digs, and Madi McVay chipped in 14.

Lee passed the 1,000 career kill mark in a sweep of Millsaps, with the 'Roos winning 25-14, 25-20, 31-29 against the Majors. Lee had 12 kills to pace the 'Roos, while Watson added 11 along with seven total blocks, and Brooke Harris had 10 kills. Ingle had 39 assists, and Ferrari had 17 digs in the victory.

Austin College closed out the weekend with a 3-1 win over Sewanee on Sunday, dropping the first set 27-29 before rolling off three straight wins by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-15. Harris led Austin College with a career-best 13 kills, and Lee added 11 in the victory. Watson had 11 kills, while Kristen Massey had eight total blocks. Ingle recorded her second double-double of the weekend with 40 assists and 13 digs, and McVay had 26 digs for Austin College.
