Austin College Splits with Centenary and Colorado College

The Austin College volleyball team split its two SCAC matches on Saturday, sweeping Centenary 3-0 before falling 3-0 to No. 8-ranked Colorado College. The 'Roos are now 14-9 overall and 5-4 in conference play.

In the first match of the day against Centenary, the 'Roos cruised to a 25-14, 25-21, 25-16 win over the Ladies behind 10 kills apiece from Rebekah Bowden and Madison Lee. The 'Roos boasted a .333 hitting percentage as a team, with Bowden's .556 leading that effort. Katie Ingle had 41 assists and nine digs, and Madi McVay led the team with 16 digs. Presleigh Watson added nine kills, and Tatiana Ferrari had 14 digs.

The 'Roos battled to the end against Colorado College, but could not quite overcome the Tigers in a 24-26, 21-25, 24-26 loss. Watson had a strong match with 10 kills to lead Austin College, while Dani DeWitt added nine kills and Lee chipped in eight to go along with nine digs. McVay had 22 digs and Ferrari added 21, while Ingle had 32 assists in the match.

Austin College wraps up the weekend on Sunday against the University of Dallas at 1:00 p.m.
