'Roo Volleyball Falls in SCAC Opening Round

The Austin College volleyball team dropped its opening round match 3-1 to Trinity University in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in Georgetown on Friday morning. The 'Roos are now 25-16 overall, and will take on the University of Dallas at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow in the 5th/6th Place match.

The No. 5-seed 'Roos fell 25-17 in the first set before evening things up with a 25-19 set two victory, but the No. 4-seeded Tigers took sets three and four by scores of 25-21, 25-13. Rebekah Bowden paced the 'Roos with nine kills and a .381 hitting percentage, as Austin College had just a .140 hitting percentage as a team. Reygan Holloman and Madison Lee each had eight kills, while Presleigh Watson had five kills and six total blocks.

Katie Ingle had five kills, 22 assists, and 11 digs, and Rachel Fusselman had 29 digs, bringing her season total to 794 total digs.
