'Roos Sweep Final Two Matches of Regular Season

The Austin College volleyball team won each of its final regular season matches in Shreveport on Saturday, topping both Howard Payne and Robert Morris by scores of 3-0. The 'Roos finish the regular season with a record of 25-15 and will now prepare to take on Trinity University in the first round of next weekend's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship.

The 'Roos cruised to a 25-11, 25-14, 25-17 win over HPU to open the day, with Rebekah Bowden and Presleigh Watson leading the way offensively. Each player had nine kills, with only one hitting error between them. The 'Roos boasted a .318 hitting percentage as a team in the match. Katie Ingle had 23 assists along with six digs and five kills, and Rachel Fusselman had 12 digs to pace Austin College.

In the second match of the day, the 'Roos dominated from the start in a 25-5, 25-16, 25-15 win over Robert Morris. Madison Lee had nine kills to pace the 'Roos, and Ingle finished with 18 assists and seven kills. Aelyn Rodriguez added five kills and three block assists, and Fusselman had a team-best 18 digs in the victory.
