'Roos Split on Day One of Centenary Halloween Tournament

The Austin College volleyball team split its first two matches on day one of the Centenary College Halloween Tournament in Shreveport, falling 3-1 to McMurry before topping Belhaven 3-1. The 'Roos are now 23-15 overall this season.

In the first match of the day against McMurry, the 'Roos dropped the first set 25-11 before rebounding for a 25-22 win in set two, but McMurry took the final two sets by scores of 25-18. Rebekah Bowden led the offensive attack for Austin College with eight kills and added three block assists, and Dani DeWitt and Presleigh Watson each had seven kills. Rachel Fusselman had 19 digs to lead the way on defense, and Katie Ingle finished with a team-best 22 assists.

The 'Roos rebounded with a 25-16, 25-11, 24-26, 25-19 victory over Belhaven, with Bowden finishing the match with 16 kills and only two hitting errors to pace the 'Roos. Reygan Holloman notched 11 kills, Ingle had 28 assists and 12 digs to go along with seven kills for a strong all-around match, and Lauren Wulz added 23 assists. Fusselman led the way with 22 digs and Tatiana Ferrari added 15 digs in the win.
