'Roo Volleyball Takes Two of Three on Weekend Trip

The Austin College volleyball team picked up wins in two of its three matches over the weekend, with the only loss coming against nationally ranked Hendrix College on Saturday. The 'Roos topped Oglethorpe University on Saturday, and swept Rhodes College on Sunday to improve to 17-11 overall this season.

The 'Roos topped Oglethorpe 25-11, 25-15, 22-25, 25-11 to kick off the weekend, with Reygan Holloman coming away with 14 kills to lead the team. Presleigh Watson added 11 kills, and Rebekah Bowden added eight. Katie Ingle had a strong all-around match with eight kills, 31 assists, and six digs, and Rachel Fusselman had 20 digs. 

In the second match of the weekend against No. 24-ranked Hendrix, the 'Roos earned a 25-20 win in the first set but fell 25-14, 25-14, 25-16 over the next three to take a 3-1 loss. Bowden, Watson, and Madison Lee each had seven kills, and Ingle added six kills to go along with 20 assists and five digs. Fusselman once again led the way with 22 digs in the match.

The 'Roos wrapped up the weekend with a 25-17, 25-18, 25-19 victory over Rhodes. Lee finished with eight kills to pace the 'Roos, and Holloman and Bowden each had seven in the victory. Ingle added five kills, 18 assists, six digs, and four block assists in the win, and Fusselman had a team-best 15 digs.
